PTSD Treatment in Las Vegas
Compassionate, individualized care to help you manage PTSD symptoms and move forward.
PTSD Symptoms and Impacts
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after exposure to a traumatic event. Symptoms may include unwanted memories, nightmares, avoiding reminders, feeling constantly on alert, difficulty sleeping, or feeling disconnected from other people. These experiences can affect your relationships, work, and sense of safety.
Not everyone who experiences trauma develops PTSD. If symptoms are affecting your daily life, a psychiatric evaluation can help you understand what is happening and explore appropriate care. You do not need a diagnosis before asking for help.
Individualized PTSD Treatment
At Nevada Mental Health, care begins with an evaluation of your symptoms, health history, previous treatment, and goals. PTSD can occur alongside depression, anxiety, or other concerns. Understanding the full picture helps guide your treatment plan.
Treatment may include psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of approaches. When medication is appropriate, your clinician can explain the options, potential benefits, side effects, and follow-up involved.
Trauma-focused psychotherapy is a recommended first-line treatment for PTSD. Approaches include Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and EMDR, provided by clinicians trained in those methods. Your NMH clinician can discuss how psychiatric care may work alongside care from a qualified trauma therapist.

PRISM Neurofeedback for PTSD
Nevada Mental Health also offers PRISM neurofeedback, an FDA-cleared adjunctive prescription treatment for PTSD symptoms. It is used alongside other care under clinician direction.
During in-clinic sessions, patients wear an EEG cap and use feedback from a computer exercise to practice regulating a targeted brain activity pattern. PRISM does not deliver electrical stimulation or require revisiting traumatic events during the session. Your clinician can evaluate whether it fits your treatment plan.
