In this appearance on Las Vegas' ABC 13 Action News, Dr. Timothy Jeider spoke on some of the tactics employed by cult like figures in order to manipulate and take advantage of vulnerable people. Jeider spoke on the matter after the story broke that Nathan Chasing Horse, known for his role in the film "Dancing with the Wolves", was arrested and home was raided. He is accused of grooming vulnerable indigenous women into sexual relationships by posing as a "medicine man" type figure.
Dr. Jeider explained that a common tactic for cult figures is to shift the focus from an established practice to a focus on themselves. He also shared that isolated individuals are more at risk and vulnerable.
